1 – Trainer Jason DaCosta saddled his 5oth winner this season when Tekapunt won the second race, the most by any trainer to date. DaCosta started training at the end of April this year. Champion Anthony Nunes has saddled 43 winners and Gary Subratie 40.

2 – In terms of stakes earned Nunes leads DaCosta based on the standings issued by the Racing Office for the last race day (October 2, 2021) by $74,755.

3 – DaCosta won his third two-year-old race of the season with Tekapunt after victories by Deezi and Silent Mission. Only trainers Nunes, Philip Feanny, and Richard Azan have won juvenile races thus far this season.

3 – Jockey Anthony Thomas with two winners on the day Unruly Boss and The Genesis has now reached 90 winners so far this year.

4 – The time done by first race winner Unruly Boss racing for the third occasion was 1:12.1 for six furlongs at non-winners of two, while She’s A Wonder at Open Allowance clocked 1:12.0 for the same distance. Can we read anything in those times? THE QUICK GALLOPER’S VIEW IS NO!

5 – Trainer Ian Parsard holds a rather strong hand in the upper classes. His stock includes Mahogany, Father Patrick, Rojorn Di Pilot and now She’s A Wonder. Plus, to add to an already impressive list are old-timers Superluminal and Harry’s Train.

Nunes has Oneofakind on the rebound and after last Monday’s impressive winner Further and Beyond. He has lost the services of Toona Ciliata (retired) and Horse of the Year Nipster who has been sent to rest and recuperate before making a possible return later this year or early next year.

Subratie’s barn in the top classes is represented by Derby winner Calculus, who is yet to prove himself, Sentient, Duke, Crimson, and Awesome Treasure.

DaCosta has King Arthur, Sir Alton, who we have not heard much about recently, Make Up Artist, Hover Craft, Eagle One, and Miniature Man (still recovering).
