KINGSTON, Jamaica – Berry Boy took the Caymanas second – a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) event going seven furlongs.

With Omar Walker in the saddle for trainer Michael Thomas, Berry Boy a bred in utero gelding stayed at the back of the field as Vampire Rejection (Jordan Barrett) set the early pace with Itsabeautifulday (Ramon Nepare) and Mamasharondarling (Anthony Thomas) nearby.

Walker started to move Berry Boy through the field with much fuss after two furlongs were completed and by the time they were about to enter the lane for the final two furlongs, Berry Boy was in striking distance of the leaders. Walker then pushed Berry Boy to the inside rails as Itsabeautifulday took over. After a short battle Berry Boy went by to win by 1 ¼ lengths. Thunderstrike (Oshane Nugent) ran on for second with Itsabeautifulday third.

This was the second win this year for trainer Thomas.
