KINGSTON, Jamaica – The win was expected and foreign filly Double Diva duly obliged at odds of 1-9 in the Caymanas Wednesday second.

Double Diva obtained her first victory in a three-year-old (non-winners of two for local horses) and a maiden event for three-year-olds imported horses.

With Anthony Thomas in the saddle for trainer Jason DaCosta, Double Diva, racing for the first time in 144 days and second time overall was slowly away when the starter pressed his go button.

Sudden Flight (Dick Cardenas) and Taurus Boy (Shane Richardson) vied for the lead, with Thomas slowly getting Double Diva into her groove.

After two furlongs were completed in the 5 ½ furlongs contest, Taurus Boy took over as Double Diva recouped and was close on the outside of the leaders.

With another half-a-furlong travelled by the runners, Double Diva took over after which it was a procession, as the filly went on to win by 9 ½ lengths in an eye-catching time of 1:06.0.

Second went to Sudden Flight to give DaCosta and owner Carlton Watson a one-two finish. Third was Taurus Boy.
