KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Ruja Lahoe rekindled days of old when he landed his first double in many years after guiding Awesome Glitter to victory in the Caymanas Saturday seventh.

The Caymanas Saturday seventh was a five-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) contest at 5 ½ furlongs.

Lahoe watched proceedings on the Michael Beecham trained Awesome Glitter in fourth place as Casual Charm (Anthony Thomas) set the early fractions with Shesaysyes (Abigail Able) and Black River (Samantha Fletcher) following close by.

Casual Charm took the field into the straight but started to flounder as did Shesaysyes. Lahoe then pounced through the middle but as Awesome Glitter got going so too did Mamasharondarling (Oneil Mullings).

The two were giving no quarter and when the winning post was reached it was Awesome Glitter by a short head.

Mamasharondarling was second and Black River third.
