KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Richard Azan trained, Anthony Thomas guided importee Eroy put it across rivals in emphatic fashion to take the Caymanas Saturday eighth.

Eroy was victorious in an Open Allowance contest going 6 ½ furlongs for three-year-old and upwards horses run in honour of former Horse of the Year, Blumenthal.

It was Father Patrick with the inexperienced apprentice Romario Spencer in the saddle to lose weight after being burdened with 131 lb who set the early splits tracked by Roiorn di Pilot (Jordan Barrett), Eroy and Eagle One (Dick Cardenas).

Father Patrick was challenged coming around the turn for home by Eroy and quickly gave way as Rojorn di Pilot provided the resistance in the stretch run. Eroy then picked up his gallop and that was enough to see off all and sundry.

Rojorn di Pilot was second and Duke (Omar Walker) running on was third.

Eroy was the fourth winner on the Saturday program for jockey Anthony Thomas.
