KINGSTON, Jamaica – After wading through five races with the fancied horses coming to the fore, it was time for the upset and that came courtesy of Willodeen at 22-1 in the Caymanas Monday sixth.

Willodeen ridden by the rarely used Sadiki Blake and trained by Wilfred Chin stayed in mid-track coming from gate 8, and was on the lead from the outset tracked throughout by Cat’s Rigger (Roger Hewitt).

In the final furlong of the five-straight call for five-year-old and upwards claimers ($180,000 - $150,000), Willodene pulled away, winning by four lengths.

Willodene provided both his trainer and jockey with their first win in 2021.

Cat’s Rigger was second and Senor Kwanzi (Shane Richardson) third.
