KINGSTON, Jamaica - With the Jamaica Derby on the horizon (Saturday, August 6, 2021), Quickgallop.com shares with its readers the Derby winners from 1921-1958. Most of these Derby races were run at Knutsford Park in Kingston.

Note that in 1959, the Derby moved to Caymanas Park.

Looking at the list of winners below, we can see that during the period under consideration, there were six Triple Crown winners: Mont Clare (1924); Saraband (1926); By Jove (1930); Money Moon (1937); George Metaxa (1939); and Mark Twain (1950).  Please note that Money Moon was the first filly to win the Triple Crown in 1937.

Interesting too, is that there were two dead heats in the Derby in the years under scrutiny. In 1934 Cloister and Ferula dead-heated and 10 years later in 1944, Pinnochio and Fastnet did the same.

Below is the list of Derby winners from 1921-1958.
