D’s Choice benefitted from the breakdown of 1-5 favourite Adoration to go away with victory in the Caymanas Monday fourth, which was a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) call run over five furlongs straight.

When the starter let them go, Adoration was not the best away but jockey Ian Spence got the dark bay colt quickly into the mix, contesting the lead with Ultimatum (Ramon Nepare).

With two furlongs to go it was it was all Adoration but in the last hops to the wire Adoration lost his footing (breaking down) and D’s Choice (Jordan Barrett) emerged from the pack to nip Adoration by a head.

The Al Brown trainee won in a time of 1:02.1. Second was Adoration and third Ultimatum.
