KINGSTON, Jamaica – JJ The Striker got off the mark at 4-1 in the Caymanas Saturday (July 10) first.

The event, a three-year-old Restricted Stakes for maidens only at six furlongs, saw JJ The Striker (Chalrick Budhai) going to the lead followed by Leo (Javaniel Patterson) and Cataba (Anthony Thomas).

The aforementioned trio continued to carry the field into the turn but Cataba lost her way by going wide. The race was now a straight duel involving JJ The Striker and Leo.

After trading blows up to the furlong pole, JJ The Striker pulled away to achieve his first win by four lengths over Leo with Wright In Flight (Jerome Innis) third.
