KINGSTON, Jamaica – Under a strong ride from Dane Nelson, Tradition racing at odds of 4-1 came with a late surge to capture the Caymanas Saturday third, which was a claiming race ($450,000 - $400,000) for three-year-olds and upwards horses.

When the starters let off the field of eight horses it was a tussle involving Mother Nature (Oneil Mullings), Super Amia (Daniel Satchell) for the lead with 1-2 favourite Just An Illusion (Javaniel Patterson) waiting behind in third. At this stage Tradition was way behind close to the back of runners.

Mother Nature entered the straight with the lead but was quickly overtaken by Mirabalis (Richard Reid) on the inside rails. With a furlong to go it appeared to be all Mirabalis but Tradition came between horses to win by a neck, to give Nelson the win over his uncle.

Third was Miss Linda Wray (Matthew Bennett).

Tradition is trained by Gary Crawford.
