KINGSTON, Jamaica – The imperious form of trainer Ian Parsard continued to flow following a fighting win in the Caymanas Saturday (June 19) first by Dejae’s Boy.
Racing in a three-year-old and upwards Optional Claimer ($1,000,000 - $800,000) at seven furlongs, Dejae’s Boy ridden by Oshane Nugent notched his fifth win from 18 career starts, while it was win number 19 from 85 starts for Parsard.
Dejae’s Boy was held close to the lead runners (Wilson, Uncle Vinnie) and with three furlongs to go made his move, taking over on the front end.
Top Shelf (Tevin Foster) responded quickly on the outside and entered the straight with the advantage.
Dejae’s Boy under strong handing by Nugent on the rails rallied with a furlong to go and once again assumed the lead this time for good, winning comfortably by four lengths.
Top Shelf was second and Wilson third.
