KINGSTON, Jamaica – This year’s edition of the 1000 Guineas (fillies – one mile or eight furlongs) has come down to three horses She’s A Wonder trained by Ian Parsard, Sensational Ending by Jason DaCosta, and Secret Identity conditioned by Tensang Chung.

As is usually done by THE QUICK GALLOPER, horses are placed into specific Brackets, after which a final choice by process of elimination is made.

Bracket One contains those horses with no chance of winning.

Of the 14 starters in the 1000 Guineas, in Bracket One are Sweet Majesty, Jahsendblessings, Ianzha Links, Silver Hawk, Alexa’s Dream, Katalina, and Awesome Choice. That's a total of seven and no analysis is required for horses in Bracket One.

Then there is Bracket Two, where horses with a mere outsider’s chance of gaining success are placed. These include Sure Curlin, Heavenly Glitter, and Hoist The Mast., that is a total of three.

Heaven Glitter trained by Gary Subratie is coming along nicely but has to improve by leaps and bounds to win here.

Sure Curlin from the stables of Patrick Lynch, like Heavenly Glitter is progressing but not enough to trouble the principals.

Hoist The Mast is a winner of two races who showed a lot of promise as a two-year-old but her stocks have fallen in recent times. She is best known for her sprinting ability making a mile difficult to handle.  Hoist The Mast is going to created havoc on the headlines.

THE QUICK GALLOPER having eliminated seven in Bracket One and three in Bracket Two that leaves four; She’s A Wonder, Sensational Ending. Amy The Butcher and Secret Identity in the Top Bracket.

Amy The Butcher is finding herself quickly, and although much worse off in the handicaps when compared with She’s A Wonder she is given more than a mere outsiders’ chance of winning but she will hit the board. Amy The Butcher should be included in bets such at the HI-5, the Superfecta and the Trifecta.

Sensational Ending just failed to catch She’s A Wonder receiving weight in the Portmore Stakes (7 ½ furlongs) making the extra half-a-furlong of the Guineas precious real estate for this come from behind filly. Sensational Ending has not been blazing at exercise but had been timely prepared.

Secret Identity has made swift progress in the last four weeks with a third-place effort behind She’s A Wonder and Sensational Ending in the Portmore. After that enlightening run, Secret Identity challenged non-winners of two and did so with devastating effect to signal her rise and her well-being.

Finally, there is She’s A Wonder, the undoubted leader of the present fillies’ pack. She has speed, can be settled if necessary and she is packed with class. The distance of a mile is no issue for She’s A Wonder after her second-place finish behind the colt Further and Beyond in the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes last December.

With development, progress, weights, and other considerations, taken in mind, the firm choice to win the 2021, 1000 Guineas is the favourite She's A Wonder.
