KINGSTON, Jamaica – After a good fourth place effort in the Portmore Stakes (7 ½ furlongs), Amy The Bucher again advertised her form with a telling win in the Caymanas Saturday ninth which was also the nightcap.

Trained by Patrick Fong and ridden by Jordan Barrett, Amy The Butcher's  success came in a three-year-old (non-winners of two) call at seven furlongs.

It did not take long for the 6-5 favourite Big Jule (Omar Walker) to go in front with Amy The Butcher staking behind just waiting to pounce.

Big Jule was still the leader when the horses entered the straight for the final two furlongs but by now Barrett had Amy The Butcher in her top stride and the grey filly by Deputy Glitters – Asia’s Dream rolled by Big Juve, with the latter losing second place by a neck to Rusty (Anthony Thomas).

The winning time done by Amy The Butcher was 1:28.1 in what was her final effort before the Classic 1000 Guineas on June 5.
