KINGSTON, Jamaica – It took all of six races and when the upset came it was in the form of Pharoah It Is at 31-1 in the Caymanas Saturday (May 15) sixth to close the Reggae-6 exotic wager.

Trained by Gary Subratie with Christopher Mamdeen in the saddle, Pharoah It Is won a four-year-old and upwards (non-winners of three) event at a mile.

Mamdeen kept Pharoah It Is at the back of the field of 12 horses following the late scratch of Versatile Vision as the likes of Helicopter, Lord of Ajahlon and Primal Fear vied for the leadership advantage.

Pharoah It Is made his move with three furlongs left in the race - circling rivals without much effort, to enter the straight on the outside but close to the leaders.

From then on Pharoah It Is powered away to land the top prize at 31-1.

Second was the 1-2 favourite Fearless Champion (Anthony Thomas) with third going to Lord of Ajahlon.
