KINGSTON, Kingston – Coming from off the pace on the inside rails, Champion Michaela, under the guidance of Javaniel Patterson was able to surge by rivals to take the Caymanas Saturday (May 15) third.

Trained by Marlon Anderson, Champion Michaela, at odds of 9-5, earned her first win from 16 starts in a four-year-old and upwards maiden conditioned offering travelling 5 ½ furlongs.

The early splits were set by Commissioner (Anthony Thomas), as they took the field in the lane for the stretch drive.

Commissioner quickly faltered as Patterson took the route on the inside and with Champion Michael now in high gear, the pair went to the lead but still had to find extra to hold the run-on effort of Toughness (Dane Dawkins) at searing odds of 81-1.

Bin Laden (Youville Pinnock) was third.
