KINGSTON, Jamaica – Drawn on the outside of seven runners, Money Magnet soared down the five-straight course to land victory in the feature event at Caymanas Park, the Reggae Trophy minutes ago.
It was the day’s (January 19) seventh event and champion jockey Anthony Thomas kept the Richard Azan trained Money Magnet in touch for the early part of the race before blasting away over the last furlong and a half.
Money Magnet beat reigning sprint champion, Chace The Great (Dane Nelson) and youngster Peking Cruz ended in third place. The winning filly covered the course in a fast 58.0 seconds.
Money Magnet was Azan's second winner on the day.
