KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dropping down in class and at the right distance, Big Bang under powerful handling from Dane Nelson put his neck in front where necessary to seal the deal in the Caymanas Ash Wednesday ninth.

Trained by champion conditioner Anthony Nunes, Big Bang was held behind the leader Secret Traveller (Nicholas Hibbert) and entered the stretch drive on the outside in about third.

For a brief moment former Derby winner Drone Strike (Tevin Foster) took up the running but was quickly challenged by Coco Chanel (Chris Mamdeen). The latter pair gained the ascendency and it was then that Nelson asked Big Bang to really respond and that the five-year-old bay gelding picked up to draw alongside Coco Chanel.

In a thrilling last furlong, the strength of Nelson prevailed.

Coco Chanel was second and old timer Hover Craft finished third.
