KINGSTON, Jamaica – With the experienced Shane Ellis in the saddle, Regnant a three-year-old chestnut colt by Midnight Hawk  – Mama Blossom racing for the first time ran out a comfortable winner of the Caymanas Ash Wednesday seventh just moments ago.

Regnant got away well and Ellis held the first timer in mid-track all the way. Regnant was challenged by another first timer Will The Conqueror (Nicholas Hibbert) two furlongs out but showing some ability pulled away in the final furlong to win by four lengths.

Will The Conqueror was second with Artesia (Dane Dawkins) third.

It should be noted that the first three past the winning post were all first-time runners.

Regnant is trained by Victor Williams who was winning his second race of the 2021 season.

It is interesting to note that Ellis was riding for the first time today as he was unavailable for his earlier rides.
