KINGSTON, Jamaica – After being completely out of view for most of the race, co-champion jockey Anthony Thomas took Awesome Aviator on the wide outside and with a searing run landed the Caymanas Ash Wednesday third.
Racing at odds of 6-5, Awesome Aviator conditioned by Steven Todd was way behind the leaders Stanislaus (Mellisa Ward) and Mother Nature (Devon A Thomas).
Ward then pushed Stanislaus further in front when they hit the straight and for most it was all over but Thomas and Awesome Aviator had other ideas and came storming through to snatch the win. Stanislaus was second and Mother Nature third.
