Fighting Cowgirl - Paul Francis
Fighting Cowgirl - Paul Francis

Race 1 - As noted in betMaster Raceday Update, Hot Ice was in excellent condition and ran accordingly. Hot Ice was slow to get going from the break but was used hard early to join the leading group. She had to slightly tap on the brakes while in and amongst horses entering the 1st turn, then weaved through horses under urging to take lead turning for home, drawing off to win for fun. Tradition was up close throughout and narrowly edged Ridewiththemob for second. Ridewiththemob was reserved early, asked for run 3f out, but stalled after getting into striking position at the top of the lane. Red hot favourite Musketoon broke sharply, but did nothing thereafter, finishing a well beaten sixth.

Race 2 - Bigbrowngreyhope was outpaced after being steadied early, advanced into contention exiting the turn, got on terms with the tearaway leader at the 1/8th pole and won easily. Hail Mary had no speed and picked up the pieces (wide) to nab second. Colt of Arms was very slow to get going and just missed snatching 3rd from Regal Prospector, who ran evenly throughout.

Race 3 - Favoured Fighting Cowgirl was away alertly but reserved just off the pace on the backstretch. She commenced a three wide rally mid-turn, drew upsides the leader Seven Stars at the top of the lane, and edged away late. Seven Stars led in hand, but proved no match for the Cowgirl. Ruds D Indian finished a distant 3rd.

Race 4 - Moon was away sharply and held together just off the pace. She advanced into contention on the final bend, drew level with the tiring leader just outside the 1/8th pole, and won easily. Sweet Medicine enjoyed a perfect trip while pressing the pace, took command on the final turn but had no answer to the winner. She finished clear of Stacyslady, who finished mildly into 3rd

Race 5 - Mr Lyndhurst was able to cross and clear early from the widest post, led comfortably in hand, and was never in doubt thereafter. He won easily from He'stherealLinks, rallying wide for 2nd. Lady Carmen had a perfect rail trip and finished a tame third.

Race 6 - As noted in betMaster Raceday Update, Dejae's Boy was well prepared and won convincingly. Held together mid-pack early, Dejae made a quick move around the turn to swoop into the lead and never looked back. Roses for Elle was up close throughout and did well to hold off stablemate Attorney General for 2nd. Sencity drew within 4 lengths of the lead entering the first turn but hooked reverse thereafter and finished down the track.

Race 7 - Favoured No Identity raced comfortably just off the pace, and responded when asked for run on the final turn (wide), to win handily. Above Hall Links had no answer for the winner despite traveling easy on a lone lead. Finished clear of Purposely in third.

Race 8 - Odds on favourite Dee Danger was away smartly and made all while drifting, winning narrowly from the pair of Mother Nature and Mamacita, who chased throughout.

Race 9 - Big Big Daddy, up in grade and down in trip, surprised me. Well back mid turn, while trailing his more fancied foes, he turned for home with a lot to do, but came with a menacing run mid-stretch and blew away the field. Wow. Silent Seeker and Generational were in perfect position in the stretch but were surprised by the flying winner. Basilicus (4th) faced early pace pressure and unravelled late, though only losing second place by a neck. Not a bad effort.

Race 10 - Solid Approach stalked favoured Laban, mounted her challenge entering the stretch, and gained the ascendency late. Laban was ridden to the lead, travelled comfortably in hand, but proved no match for Solid Approach. No excuse. Den Street disappointed in finishing a well measured fourth.

Race 11 - England's Rose shot clear midway through the turn and that was that. Won easily from long-shot Cryptocurrency who rallied well to get second. Chase the Great had no speed and entered the lane second to last. He passed tired horses to get 3rd but was definitely not himself today.
