RACE TYPE: Three-year-old Maiden Condition
RACE DISTANCE: 5 ½ furlongs
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Johncrowjeff (Natural Selection - Sweetyourock) racing for the second time got the maiden tag off his back with a come from behind victory in the Caymanas Saturday fourth.
Jockey Anthony Thomas broke Johncrowjeff well but quickly backed off the early pace set by first timer Diamond In The Sky (Rudolph Paige) and Silver Hawk (Reyan Lewis).
After two furlongs were completed Diamond In the Sky shook off Silver Hawk with Johncrowjeff falling way behind.
In the lane, it was still Diamond In The Sky with the advantage but now the likes of Amy The Butcher (Jordan Barrett) and Tina’s Account (Paul Francis) were in the mix.
At this stage Thomas decided to take the route along the inside rails on Johncrowjeff and even though they got into traffic problems, the Wayne DaCosta trainee found extra to win by three-parts-of a length.
Amy The Butcher was second and Tina’s Account third.
The winning time was 1:08.3.
