KINGSTON, Jamaica – Run Thatcher Run (Fearless Vision – Ahwhofah) a half-brother to both She’s A Maneater and Without Exception did run on his debut to upset the much touted Earn Your Stripes in the Jamaica Observer Trophy seconds ago at Caymanas Park in the Diamond Mile Race Day seventh race.
The Jamaica Observer Trophy was for two-year-olds over 5 ½ furlongs.
Run Thatcher Run, a chestnut colt, clocked a fast 1:06.3 for the distance and went off at odds of 4-1. Omar Walker was the winning jockey.
Second went to 6-1 chance Scoobert and third to the howling 1-9 favourite Earn Your Stripes.
The win by Run Thatcher Run earned the pressure somewhat on DaCosta in the trainers’ championship after his main rival Anthony Nunes had scored earlier with Giaconda.
