KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jockey Dick Cardenas and trainer Anthony Nunes teamed with Baltusrol to win the second race on the Saturday (August 8) card at Caymanas Park.
The event won by Baltusrol was an Optional Claimer ($850,000 - $800,000) run over five furlongs round.
Cardenas riding for the third race day since his recent return to the local track waited patiently behind the leaders Polly B ((Raddesh Roman) and Mr Universe (Anthony Thomas).
Cardenas and Baltusrol got closer and closer nearing the final bend and when asked for the winning effort Baltusrol responded and won with ease.
Bimini running on finished second with Mr Universe third.
Following a stewards’ inquiry both Bimini and Mr Universe were then disqualified from second and third respectively.
The final placings read – First; Baltusrol – Second: Cryptocurrency and Third: Mr Universe.
