KINGSTON, Jamaica – The first race on Saturday, August 20, 2022, pits eight maiden three-year-olds against each other going one mile.
THE QUICK GALLOPER goes through the eight starters to find the winner.
– SECRET EMPEROR is a bay gelding (February 16) by Emperor Hall out of Secret Cat trained by Carl Anderson with Shane Ellis aboard. Has finished second in his last two outings and is now poised to go one better especially after looking good at exercise. The combo of Ellis and Anderson has been doing well of late.
– AMAD ALI is a chestnut colt (March 7) by Traditional out of Adina trained by Gary Subratie with Conrod Ellis aboard. Became one to note when finishing fourth on debut seven days ago.  Returning after that quick spin with Ellis in the saddle does not inspire confidence. Note, Amad Ali races with the tongue tie and figure 8 on.
– SNEAKY JOE is a bay colt (April 29) by Sensational Slam out of Distinctly Natural trained by Edward Stanberry with Aaron Chatrie on board. Did well to earn third place behind Ha Gow Siu Mei and Dujour on August 6. Sneaky Joe has raced over a mile before without getting close, meaning he will be undone by the distance at this time in his career of five starts.
– JUSTIN BIDEN is a chestnut gelding (April 15) by Lion Tamer out of Wagon Wheel trained by Renex Burrell with Daniel Thompson aboard. Has been out of touch recently with no improvement expected on Saturday.
– NOA LI is a bay filly (April 10) by Forest Danger out of Celine trained by Anthony Nunes with Odeen Edwards on board. Coming also will run surprisingly well without winning.
– ASURETY is a chestnut gelding (March 9) by Perfect Curlin out of Sure To Cure trained by Edward Stanberry with Roger Hewitt aboard. Asurety has been taking a while to find himself. He gave a glimpse of form when finishing third behind Fearless Fire and Lord Burkington just seven days ago. Asurety faces better opposition and is going to be found wanting. Note, Asurety races with the tongue tie on.
– HOWILOOKIN is a bay colt (Feb 12) by Western Classic out of Gold Charm trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster aboard. A veteran of 12 starts, Howilookin gets his best opportunity of getting off the mark. This bay colt is as consistent as they come but must deal again with Secret Emperor who beat him by over four lengths at a mile on July 23. A good bet for the exacta and the trifecta wagers.
– ANCHORMAN is a bay colt (February 27) by Soul Warrior out of Bitter End trained by Anthony Nunes with Oshane Nugent aboard. Finished close to Secret Emperor 14 days ago but was losing ground in the final part of that seven-furlong engagement. With only three starts to date, Anchorman is quickly finding his way around, and, therefore cannot be neglected.
