Hidden Valley
Hidden Valley
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The seventh race of nine on Saturday, May 21, 2022, is another in the series of three-year-old maiden events. This time the distance is seven and a half furlongs and is for fillies only.
Ten horses have been nominated and THE QUICK GALLOPER dissecting the lot trying to find the winner.
1 – SHE’S MY FRIEND is a bay filly (May 10) by Natural Selection out of My Friend Lucy trained by Jason DaCosta with Reyan Lewis in the saddle. She’s My Friend is slowly getting into her work and after four starts seems ready and prepped for this one. Should fight it out. Note, She’s My Friend races with the tongue tie on.
2 – AAVA JAELYN is a chestnut filly (March 20) by Tapilu out of Boogywoogyprincess trained by Donovan Thompson with Roger Hewitt in the saddle. Needs all the time she can get. Note, Aava Jaelyn races with the tongue tie on.
3 – NORTH LONDON is a bay filly (May 8) by Savoy Stomp out of Right Marker trained by Ryan Darby with Andre Martin in the saddle. Finished third behind Mila’s All That, 14 days ago, over six furlongs but gave the impression of losing ground in the last furlong. Now going longer will not suit North London. But in a race in which any number can play, North London cannot be disregarded.
4 – EDINA MARSH is a bay filly (April 25) by Buzz Nightmare out of Sheza A Spy trained by Donovan Plummer with Andre Powell in the saddle. Has done nothing to recommend her.
5 – NORTHERN LADY is a bay filly (April 12) by Northern Giant out of Liquid Lady trained by Patrick Lynch with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. This filly is not ready to handle these yet.
6 – MINIDEWAK is a bay filly (February 21) by Lion Tamer out of Aura Mas) trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. The senior along with Hidden Valley among these will have to settle for a minor placing.
7 – SELECT ME is a dark bay filly (February 13) by Natural Selection out of Excellence trained by Patrick Lynch with Raddesh Roman in the saddle. Way off from being a threat.
8 – NEVER ON A SUNDAY is a bay filly (April 20) by Midnight Charm out of Kenzie’s Charm trained by Maurice Crooks with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. This filly is developing well as evidenced by her last effort 13 days ago when she finished 10 lengths fifth behind Slam at 8 ½ furlongs. Then Never On A Sunday raced with the early and was prominent throughout only losing her shape in the final half-furlong. That 8 ½ furlongs, on Saturday it will be 7 ½ furlongs. This horse will have a loud shout.
9 – HIDDEN VALLEY is a chestnut filly (March 28) by Soul Warrior out of Little Thunder trained by Richard Azan with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. Hidden Valley is drifting into good form as seen after her second-place effort behind Pretty Girl on May 7. She acts as if, more than six furlongs are required for her to deliver her best. The extra real estate should therefore help.
10 – DESHA is a chestnut filly (February 21) by Nuclear Wayne out of Princess Sallema trained by Rowan Mathie with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. Did well on debut 14 days ago when finishing only a length behind Hidden Valley at six furlongs. Any improvement on that effort will see Desha earning again.
