KINGSTON, Jamaica – Division Two of the three-year-old maiden event for fillies only has ten starters, from which any number can reach the winning post in front. The distance is six furlongs.
Below is the analysis of all the runners.
– MINIDEWAK is a bay filly (February 21) by Lion Tamer out of Aura Mas trained by Anthony Nunes with Tevin Foster in the saddle. Minidewak has been treading through her six outings, hitting the board now and then. On Saturday, Minidewak comes down in the weights against a more moderate set of rivals. Can finally pull it off.
– MIDNIGHT BEAUTY is a bay filly (March 14) by Midnight Hawk out of Full Throttle trained by Wilfred Chin with Andre Martin in the saddle. Still finding her way.
– PRETTY GIRL is a chestnut filly (February 18) by Deputy Glitters out of Runaway Queen trained by Jason DaCosta with Omar Walker in the saddle. This filly has raced twice and has demonstrated enough to give her a glorious opportunity of winning.
– MELMICH is a chestnut filly (February 14) by Sparrowhawk out of Miss Polly trained by Lorenzo Robinson with Jordan Barrett in the saddle. This is part of the learning curve for Melmich. Note, Melmich races with the blinkers on, and the figure 8 off.
– ZION’S PRINCESS is a bay filly (April 25) by Midnight Hawk out of Lookatmenow trained by Michael Beecham with Ruja Lahoe in the saddle. Needs more time.
– DESHA is a chestnut filly (February 21) by Nuclear Wayne out of Princess Sallema trained by Rowan Mathie with Youville Pinnock in the saddle. This first-timer will learn.
– CODE OF CONDUCT is a bay filly (February 3) by Midnight Hawk out of Amicable trained by Gresford Smith with Dane Dawkins in the saddle. Made a positive impression on debut 14 days ago and could get close.
- DUJOUR is a dark bay filly (March 21) by Force De Jour out of First Kiss trained by Roy Matthews with Anthony Thomas in the saddle. Dujour has experience on her side with nine starts, finishing second in her last two trips to the starting gates. Does possess speed but has the tendency of faltering even over distances shorter than six furlongs. Will go in front with the others playing catch-up.
– LAST DANCE is a dark bay filly (April 9) by Here Comes Ben out of Cool Embrace trained by Michael Marlowe with Phillip Parchment in the saddle. Not yet ready to deal with these. Note, Last Dance races with both the tongue tie and figure 8 on.
– HIDDEN VALLEY is a chestnut filly (March 28) by Soul Warrior out of Little Thunder trained by Richard Azan with Dick Cardenas in the saddle. This filly has been thereabouts and has an outsider’s chance of winning.
