1 – Of the 12 starters in the 2023 Jamaica St Leger, four are fillies, Princess Sharon, All For Love, Thalita, and Mamma Mia. Interestingly, all four fillies are drawn next to each other. There are no geldings entered in the St Leger.

2 – The dominant sire is the HAM Stables resident stallion, Soul Warrior. Soul Warrior has four of his offspring in the St Leger. They are Money Miser (Soul Warrior – She’s Traditional); Princess Sharon (Soul Warrior – Princess Shine); Thalita (Soul Warrior – Luminous Trieste), and Mamma Mia (Soul Warrior – Princess Geeta). Note of the four horses sired by Soul Warrior in the St Leger, three are fillies, Princess Sharon, Thalita, and Mamma Mia.

3 – 2000 Guineas winner and the hot pre-race favourite for the St Leger Mojito will race for the eighth time in his career. Interestingly, Mojito has been drawn in post positions, one or two, in his last three runs. In those last three starts, Mojito has exited from barrier, one, two, and two. On Saturday (July 1), Mojito is drawn at one.

4 – Of the seven trainers with horses in the 2023 St Leger, only two Richard Azan and Gary Subratie have had previous success in the St Leger. In terms of success in the five Classic three-year-old races, Azan, Subratie, Jason DaCosta, Fitzroy Glispie, and Ian Parsard have saddled winners.
