KINGSTON, Jamaica – Co-champion jockey Anthony Thomas of 2020 got his Caymanas Saturday effort underway with a bustling win which was recorded in the fourth of 10 races on the programme.
Racing at competitive odds of 9-2, Striking Lady trained by Howard Jaghai was prominent throughout with Another Prosecutor (Shane Ellis), Double Jeopardy (Dick Cardenas) and five-year-old foreigner Stormy Silana (Dane Nelson) racing for the first time also in the mix.
Inside the final furlongs of this short event, it came down to a contest involving Striking Lady and Stormy Silana but in the end Thomas who is gaining a reputation of riding winners down the straight got Striking Lady to respond and win by half-a-length over Stormy Silana with Double Jeopardy third.
