KINGSTON, Jamaica – Lady V under a careful ride from jockey Dane Dawkins ran away with the first of 12 races on the Saturday (Oct 12) programme moments ago at Caymanas Park.
Owned and trained by Gresford Park, Lady V running at odds of 3-1 in a $180,000 - $150,000 claiming event run over three furlongs straight, broke well and was always with the leader in the short sprint before pulling away from rivals winning in the end by 3 ½ lengths.
Second went to 12-1 shot Ringo Starr with the 1-5 odds on favourite Bullet Raj in the third slot.
Lady V was Smith’s sixth winner for the season and it was number 11 for Dawkins.
